This study uses Wave Equation-Based (WEB-AVO engine) forward modelling to explore whether PS-converted wave energy can enhance shear-property estimation from UHR seismic pre-stack inversion in shallow offshore wind farm settings. Initial results indicate that PS amplitudes are consistently one to two orders of magnitude weaker than PP, with minimal contribution from multiples or mode conversions, limiting the value of PS data for shear-property estimation. Based on these findings, we suggest that elastic property estimation from seismic inversion may be more effective with PP-based approaches, and that acquisition efforts should prioritize improvements to PP data (such as increased offset coverage and low-frequency content) over further investment in multicomponent data.
