Abstract

Summary

CLAMS is an innovative sonar research initiative led by Fugro, aimed at developing a surface-deployed system for high-resolution 3D imaging of buried objects—including cables, boulders, UXOs, and natural features—within the first 10 meters of the seabed. By integrating Fugro’s USV and offshore GNSS technologies, CLAMS delivers a low-impact, scalable solution tailored to the offshore wind sector. Following successful lake trials with known targets, the project is now progressing toward sea trials off Scheveningen, where its performance will be assessed under real-world offshore conditions. Initial results are expected to be presented at the upcoming conference.
