Abstract

Summary

This paper presents the feasibility and survey design studies conducted for the Hewett project, on a depleted gas field. Legacy seismic data already cover the area of interest, but as often happens when shifting from hydrocarbon extraction to CCS, the seismic quality did not meet the new objectives, requiring new seismic acquisition. Seismic industry is proposing a wide range of possibility to achieve high resolution data, proper spatial sampling, as well as near offset/near angle information but CCS seismic project need a tailored plan. We present the methodology and results of this seismic campaign and discuss the way forward.
