Abstract

Summary

The molecular and rock magnetic composition of rocks serves as a “barcode”, recording their origin and key processes affecting the studied units. When the magmatic intrusion intersects sedimentary rocks, changes occur in a short period, as opposed to the gradual long-term transformations typical in normal burial conditions. The study aimed to trace changes in different organic parameters along with changes in magnetic mineralogy. Thermal impact is mirrored in the distribution of various organic compounds. High temperatures close to the clay-basalt contact induced the formation of ultrafine-grained magnetite.
