Abstract

Summary

The paper presents the results obtained for pine sawdust as part of a biomass test in terms of the obtained products. Pine sawdust was used as a raw material for testing the pyrolysis process conducted at 550°C. The solid fraction - biochar was subjected to elemental analysis and TGA. Thermogravimetric analysis performed on a Mettler Toledo TGA2 was used to obtain Proximate results of the biochar (moisture content, volatile matter, fixed carbon and ash). Determination of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur and oxygen content in the biochar was performed by gas chromatography with thermal conductivity detector (GC-TCD) on a Flash Smart 2000 from Thermo Fischer Scientific.
