Abstract

Summary

We have utilized triple quad GC-MS/MS to develop a method for estimating the thermal maturity of source rocks and oils using a various napthalene and phenanthrene compounds found in crude oils. Other compounds, such as carotenoids and NSOs are quantified with the method and are helpful in determining source diagnostic information for these oils.
