Abstract

Summary

Lake sediment cores allow to reconstruct regional climate changes. We used a sediment core from Lake Rot in Switzerland to reconstruct temperatures over the last 14k years. We extracted fatty acids of the sediments with chain lengths of 15 and 17 carbons that enabled us to reconstruct the mean annual air temperature of the region of Lucerne.
