Abstract

Summary

This study offers a detailed analysis of source rock kinetics specific to the South Sarawak area, providing a deeper understanding of hydrocarbon generation processes. The findings contribute to PTTEP’s in-house database of customized source rock kinetics, which will be utilized in future petroleum system modeling projects to enhance the understanding of source rock reactivity and hydrocarbon generation behavior. These insights are essential for supporting exploration activities in the South Sarawak area, offering a novel approach to addressing the complex challenges of hydrocarbon exploration.
