Abstract

Summary

Despite extensive exploration since 2004, and a total of ten exploratory wells had been drilled by different operators, only one well resulted in a discovery in 2010. The present study aims to understand the structural evolution, evaluate the petroleum system, determine the key risks and geological causes of exploration failures, and assess any further hydrocarbon potential in the area, de-risking future exploration opportunities through the gained geological knowledge.
