Abstract

Summary

The abstract covers the transformative impact of automating petrophysical product generation within the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field. This mature oil and gas field, with over 30 years of production history, has faced challenges in data processing and integration due to the dispersed nature of data storage and platform diversity. The new cloud-based methodology has significantly improved efficiency, saving over 5,000 hours of manual work annually, and enhanced the accuracy and consistency of petrophysical products. The automation involves three key steps: data streaming from Techlog Studio to bp’s SQL database, petrophysical products generation using Azure Cloud resources, and output products integration into internal dashboards and platforms. This approach aligns with the Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) principles, preparing ACG for future technological advancements and seamless integration with real-time machine learning workflows. The success of this project underscores the critical role of standardized data management practices and highlights the broader value of increased efficiency, consistency, and a single source of truth for petrophysical data.
