Abstract

Summary

The article describes the geological structure of the Chorniyivska area, which is an oil and gas prospective object located in the Inner Zone of the Precarpathian Trough. The object of research is the Paleogene deposits of the Tarnavian folds and the Tarnavian fold sub-slab. A qualitative assessment of the oil and gas prospects of the Chorniyivska area was performed based on the analysis of tectonic-stratigraphic, lithological-facies, hydrogeological and other criteria. Oil deposits are expected to occur in the Yamnenska horizon of the Paleocene, Eocene sediments and Oligocene menilite horizon in the Northwestern and South Eastern areas of the Sushylsko-Strilbytskyi block of the Tarnavian folds and the Tarnavian folds sub-slab. Quantitative estimation of prospective resources was carried out. The methodology of exploration drilling in the studied area is substantiated.
