Abstract

Summary

Based on the results of modern magnetovariation studies performed in 2024, a spatial and temporal picture of the distribution of geomagnetic variations along the Bylychi-Hlyboka profile on the Earth’s surface was obtained. The experimental data were processed using the PRC_MTMV software package, and the properties of response functions (tippers) for periods of geomagnetic variations from 19.5 to 8192 s in the Sambir and Boryslav-Pokutske Nappes and the southern part of the Pre-Carpathian trough were analyzed. Based on the qualitative interpretation of the types, three anomalous zones were identified in the crust. The first two are located in the Sambir and Boryslavsko-Pokutske rocks and are characterized by the probability of the existence of near-surface conductors in their interior. The third zone in the subsurface of the southern part of the Pre-Carpathian trough is associated with the presence of the Chernivtsi crust conductivity anomaly or its lateral influence. With increasing periods, the induction parameters reflect the complex influence of the submeridional regional magnetovariation Carpathian anomaly in general and the Chernivtsi conductivity anomaly in the south in combination with asterospheric conductors. The information about the existence of the deep conductor and its parameters should become the basis for quantitative interpretation and construction of a 3D deep geoelectric model of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
