Abstract
The article presents the results of research on the hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical conditions of the gravel and pebble aquifer in the territory of the Kalush-Golynsky potash deposit. Based on chemical analyses of samples collected in 2019–2023, the dynamics of mineralisation and components of the chemical composition of groundwater in the gravel and pebble aquifer and surface water in hydraulic engineering structures, that are sources of pollution, were determined. The salinity halo of the aquifer downstream of the groundwater flow from the site of hydraulic engineering structures that were part of the mining cycle during operation and currently contain brines was identified: tailings ponds No. 1, 2 and 3 and sludge pond. It has been established that salt dumps No. 1 and No. 4 are a powerful source of groundwater pollution.
It is proved that increased values of groundwater mineralization are observed in a group of wells located in the zone of direct influence of hydraulic structures. The results of the study were used for further refinement of the geofiltration model and for predicting the salinization of the gravel and pebble aquifer.
