Abstract

Summary

The results of observations of vertical land motion at the geodynamic polygon of the Poltava Gravimetric Observatory for the period 1987–2020 are presented. On the flat section of the polygon, slow movements of surface benchmarks have an alternating trend and a magnitude that does not exceed their seasonal fluctuations. On sloping areas, there is a constant rising of the ground with a speed increasing over time, which can reach 1.7 mm per year. The maximum rising of the land for the entire period of observations is about 30 mm. The shapes and magnitudes of slow vertical movements on the sloping area of the polygon at depths of 1 m and 4 m are practically the same. This indicates the presence of a common factor that generates the movement of benchmarks of different depths at the Poltava polygon.
