Abstract

Summary

The study presents the results of investigations of the shale of the Visean Stage within the Dnieper-Donets Basin. A novel approach is proposed for predicting the organic matter content in these rocks using a limited set of well logging data and core sample analysis. It has been established that combining the Pessey method, which is widely used in such studies, with a neural network algorithm allows for a sufficiently accurate prediction of organic matter content within shale intervals.
