Abstract

Summary

The paper presents the results of a study aimed at obtaining reliable data on the intensities of seismic vibrations caused by missile, aircraft and artillery strikes to assess the consequences of seismic impact using seismograms obtained at seismic stations of the Main Center for Special Monitoring.

Since the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation armed forces into the territory of sovereign Ukraine, the seismological network of the Main Center for Special Monitoring of the State Space Agency of Ukraine has registered a large number of explosions (missile, aircraft strikes), in which one of the components of the striking effect is seismic waves. Seismic vibrations from explosions have a harmful effect on the structures of operating industrial installations for various purposes, on locking, signaling and communication systems, underground communications, foundations of buildings and structures and can lead to damage and destruction. Based on the analysis of the energy parameters of seismic signals from explosions in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernihiv regions, the correlation between the power of explosions and the magnitude of the intensities of seismic oscillations depending on the distance to the epicenter of the explosion was obtained.
