Abstract
Based on the conducted morphostructural studies, a comprehensive analysis of erosion-denudation processes in Madagascar has been carried. The main focus of this research is the application of a complex methodology that combines geomorphological mapping, remote sensing data, and GIS-based analysis. This allows for a detailed assessment of erosion dynamics, including the identification of active zones of denudation, sediment transport pathways, and the influence of tectonics on landscape evolution. The study has revealed a differentiation in the indicators of potential denudation processes across various regions of Madagascar, as well as within distinct tectonic blocks. Furthermore, the research has provided insights into the evolution of the relief within these tectonic units, emphasizing the significant role of tectonic activity and erosion in shaping landscape dynamics and long-term morphological transformations. The morphology of slopes plays a key role in erosion processes. The influence of this parameter on lavaka formation is assessed by analyzing variations in slope, aspect, and curvature types (concave, convex, and flat). It was proved that climatic changes and heavy rainfall accelerate erosion, but they do not fundamentally change the bases of erosion or prevent them from changing.
