Abstract

Summary

The paper presents the results of a study of the impact of military operations on the fire situation on the lands of Kherson region according to the FIRMS resource. The total number of fires in 2021–2023 was compared using GIS. It was found that, compared to the same period in 2021, the number of fires increased on all types of land cover in the spring and summer. It was recorded that a critical number of fires occurred on lands covered with forests, which are extremely important for steppe zones; on natural grassy landscapes and built-up areas.
