Abstract

Summary

The study highlights the importance of integrating landscape planning principles into state planning documents. The relevance of the study is determined by the European Landscape Convention and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The article proposes a methodology for determining the objects of landscape planning, taking into account the multiplicity of landscape-territorial structures (LTS) and economic entities. The study allocates Makariv territorial community within the physiographic region of Kyiv Polissia and identifies its LTS: genetic-morphological, basin and positional-dynamic. The genetic-morphological LTS of the community is represented by the Serednoteterivskyi and Kyiv-Borodianskyi physiographic regions, while the basin LTS is determined by four catchment basins.

The key actors in the field of landscape planning are the territorial communities of Kyiv and Zhytomyr Regions, which emphasises the need for their cross-border cooperation. The results of the study show the crucial role of GIS and spatial analysis for landscape planning. The proposed methodology for analysing LTS allows us to identify objects of landscape planning for sustainable environmental management organisations.
