Abstract

Summary

Examples of using the results of hydromorphological assessment to determine priority measures for the restoration of rivers that have undergone significant anthropogenic impact have been analyzed. The hydromorphological index of river changes (HIRC) has been developed and presented, which is based on the use of hydromorphological monitoring data according to the methodology approved in Ukraine. The proposed index takes into account the prolonged and atypical nature of anthropogenic impact on the hydromorphological state of the survey areas. The HIRC has been calculated for 8 survey areas on surface water bodies within the Irpin River basin, where a change in hydromorphological indicators was noted as a result of military impact and subsequent restoration of bridges and hydraulic structures.
