Abstract

Summary

An analysis and generalization of geological, hydrogeological and hydrochemical data was carried out for three cities in the Carpathian region of Ukraine, the population of which exceeds 100 thousand people. The availability of their approved operational reserves or predicted groundwater resources has been determined. Recommendations are given for the creation of a branched system of local (pump-station) water supply in case of emergency natural and man-made events or the introduction of martial law. The necessity and relevance of such studies are indicated by the consequences of Russian aggression, which aimed not only at the destruction of military, but also critical and civilian infrastructure of our state. The work is funded by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and is scheduled for completion in 2023–2025.
