Abstract
The preservation and study of cultural heritage are critical to maintaining cultural identity and historical memory. This research examines the application of laser scanning technologies and 3D modeling for documenting and reconstructing valuable cultural heritage objects, particularly in situations where they are at risk of damage from natural or anthropogenic factors. The study focuses on the historical Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv, employing terrestrial laser scanning techniques to capture detailed point cloud data. The collected data were processed in Autodesk Revit 2025, enabling the creation of an accurate 3D model of the building. The methodology involved the step-by-step integration of point cloud data into the modeling environment, the manual reconstruction of architectural elements such as walls, windows, and doors, and the assignment of appropriate materials. Due to wartime constraints, the roof was not modeled, illustrating real-world limitations in data acquisition. The results demonstrate the high precision and non-invasive nature of laser scanning for architectural documentation, as well as its potential for digital preservation, analysis, and virtual visualization. The resulting 3D model serves both as a digital archive and as a reference for future restoration or reconstruction efforts. This study confirms the effectiveness of integrating laser scanning and Building Information Modeling technologies in documenting architectural heritage.
