Efficient OBN Surveys with a Single Vessel

In this paper, we discuss the use of a single multi-purpose vessel to acquire an OBN survey efficiently. The hybrid vessel is capable of deploying nodes with ROV and has a complete seismic source. These features, coupled with small nodes with a long battery life, means the vessel can deploy nodes, acquire the shot carpet and retrieve the nodes. This is demonstrated in a case study where such a survey was conducted over 20 days.
