Abstract

Summary

Near Field Hydrophone (NFH) data is acquired as a part of OBN acquisitions alongside the main data and designed to monitor performance of air guns in seismic acquisitions. In processing, NFH’s are used to derive notionals and signatures. In shallow water environments, NFH images can provide insight into the geological settings of shallow sections with significantly higher resolution images compared to OBN. We processed around 28000 sqkm area offshore Abu Dhabi. The obtained 3d- images provide insights into the geology of Upper Cenozoic shallow formations.
