Abstract

Summary

We have faced the question many times that between supercritical and dissolved CO2, which one is more suited for sequestration in basalts? We analyse the pros and cons of both the technologies, and we compare the costs to understand the processes. We conclude that specifically for basalt and ultramafic rocks, dissolved CO2 should be the option for sequestration, provided the transportation distance is not too long.
