The evaluation of 3D post-stack seismic data is vital for subsurface opportunity assessment, yet traditional workflows are hindered by inefficient data access, fragmented governance, and large data volumes. Seismic streaming, developed through a multi-year collaboration, addresses these challenges by enabling high-performance, real-time visualization of seismic volumes directly from the OSDU data platform. Central to this solution is the Seismic Data Management Service (SDMS), which provides secure cloud-based storage and standardized access to trusted seismic datasets. Integration with interpretation software demonstrates significant performance improvements—up to a 4x reduction in data loading times. Compared to conventional cloud storage, seismic streaming reduces costs, minimizes data duplication, and enhances cross-domain collaboration. It also lays the groundwork for AI-driven workflows by providing a single source of truth for seismic data. Seismic streaming via OSDU marks a transformative step in geophysical data management, improving scalability, efficiency, and readiness for automation in interpretation workflows.
