Open Data, Closed Door? A Small Vendor’s Test of the OSDU™ Promise

This presentation introduces an ongoing effort to apply an “acid test” to the OSDU™ Data Platform: Is it realistically possible for a small, independent software vendor to install and add value through a community instance of OSDU with limited resources? Or is OSDU only achievable for the big players? The objective is not to present a finished success story, but to document the live attempt, highlighting the process, challenges, and learnings along the way. The effort also aims to explore what else smaller technology providers can contribute beyond simply moving data, particularly for smaller oil and gas companies seeking accessible solutions.
