Basin Formation and Evolution Modelling on the Base of Geological-Geophysical Data
By V. SvalovaFor simulation of sedimentary basins formation and evolution the hierarchical mechanical-mathematical multi-layer models of high-viscous fluid were used. Physical parameters of medium (viscosity, density, thermal conductivity) were changed from one layer to another. The problems were solved by computer and analitically under different boundary conditions by asimptotical methods of distribution on small parameters and consecutive approximations.

Petroleum Geochemistry of the Baku Archipelago Fields, South Caspian Basin, Azerbaijan
Authors A. S. Djavadova, A. A. Narimanov and G. G. RinaldiThe principal system of reservoirs containing commercial accumulations of oil and gas in the Baku Archipelago is the Productive Unit of Middle Pliocene age. In the Sangachaly-deniz, Duvanny-deniz, Khara-Zire, Bulla-deniz, Alaty-deniz, Garasu anticlinal trend, large oil and gas pools occur in association with Horizon VII, and in part, with Horizon VIII of the Unit.

The Correlation of the Middle Pliocene Sediments within the Apsheron Pre-Balkhan Uplift Zone, South Caspian Basin
More LessThe Middle Pliocene deposits of the Neogene are widely developed covering all of the offshore South Caspian Basin, such adjacent onshore areas as Kura depression, Wester Turkmenistan, Apsheron and Cheleken peninsulas, and southern portion of the Tersk-Caspian trough. In each of these areas, the Middle Pliocene formation has different lithological structure and mineralogical composition, due to the difference in tectonic intensity and orientation, depositional environments and sources of clastic sediments.

StrikeSlip Faults of the South Caspian Basin, Azerbaijan and Adjacent Regions
Authors I. Murtuzayev and A. BayramovPresented results are based on the interpretation of High Resolution Topography and Bathymetry Map of South Caspian Region and Northern Iran (courtesy of CONOCO), Landsat-5 colour composites (courtesy of BP/Statoil Alliance), Meteor black-and-white imageries, and geological and geophysic data.

Carbonate Platforms of the Late Paleozoic of the Pre-Caspian Syneclise
More LessCarbonate platforms of the Pricaspian Synaclise are great isometrie and longitudinal structures, appearing in the basement relief or laving an inversional origin.

Geological History of Pre-Caspian Ocean - Key to Prediction of Peroliferous Reefs
More LessPre Caspian basin is one of the deepest depression of the Earth. Karachaganak, Tengiz, Astrakhan and other oil and gas fields are discovered here. Practically all of the fields are connected with the Pre Kungurian carbonate reservoirs.

About the Criteria of Search of the Deep-Seated Oil and Gas Deposits in South Caspian Basin (SCB)
More LessIt is well known that the criteria of search of the oil and gas deposits for the studied depths (averagely up to 3-4 km) are the presence of massive thickness of the sedimentation, of favourable structural-tectonic traps, of rocks-reservoirs capable to contain the industrial oil and gas, accumulation and reliable caps for the deposits conservation from its further destructions.

Tectonic and Sedimentation of the Domi Basin Offshore Korea and their Implication for the Hydrocarbon Exploration Prospects
More LessThe Domi Basin is located in the southern part of Offshore Korea and extends over Offshore Japan as a northern part of the Cheju Basin (East China Sea Basin). The Basin is consisted of mainly Cenozoic clastic sediments and conceptually has been expected Cretaceous lacustrine sediments as acoustic basement.
