Spectral and Correlation Analysis of Acoustic Emission Waveforms and Failure Micromechanics in Rocks.
By A. RozanovSuch processes as the production of hydrocarbon reservoirs and mining excavation are associated with
microseismicity. Changes of the in situ stress conditions can result in the sudden movements along pre-existing
faults or can generate new fractures which in turn induce the emission of seismic energy. Monitoring and
analyses of microseismic events can clarify the physics of geodynamical processes going on in rock mass. It is a
powerful tool to obtain information on the present stress conditions and to image dynamic processes like
subsidence and fluid flow. To reveal the active areas in rock mass different localization techniques are used.
This study is focused on the event waveform analysis and aimed to find the adequate waveform parameters
which reflect the fracturing evolution in rocks. I suggest a newly developed application of spectral method and
show the results of acoustic emission (AE) waveform analysis.

Application of VSP both in prospect and exploitation drilling: the results and the problems
By V.A. LenskyProvision of reliability of VSP data geological interpretation at large distances of a source is clashed with a
series of the problems. On a base of the experience by means of drilling test, the main factors were distinguished
which can decrease the accuracy and the reliability of VSP results. The ways of taking into account
of these factors were indicated. The examples of VSP application were presented to increase the effectiveness
of prospect and exploitation drilling.

The Seismic Faces of Atoll Carbonate Reservoirs by the Trace Shape Analysis
Authors L.N. Gataulina and I.N. AhmetshinIn this work we present interpretation study of 3D seismic research of oil-filled carbonate
bodies, which have been estimated as structures with low-size and small height (south-east
margin of Russian Plate). Two types of organic limestone structures (bioherm and biostrome)
were detected in the seismic cube and that also have been confirmed by log data and exploration
drilling. Seismic trace shape analysis by supervised and unsupervised approaches showed arched
chain of biostromes and internal groups of bioherms. Most of them are revealed for the first
time. Authors suggest a lithofacies model of Aitov area organic limestone massif as a part of
atoll with lagoon, reef chain, outer shelf and tide way.

Volume Interpretation of Shoestring Sandstone Bodies by Use Seismic Attributes
Authors L.N. Gataulina and G.Z. ValeevInterpretation study of 3D seismic research of oil-filled shoestring sandstone bodies we
present in this paper (south-east margin of Russian Plate). High-flow-rate wells in the “C0-
channel” (C1al) and “CII+CIII-channel” (C2tl) have been known for more than twenty years.
Volume interpretation of shoestring sandstone bodies using seismic attributes (especially
instantaneous frequency) effectively detected all exploration objects. “C0-channel” has more
acoustic emphasis (sandstone-in-carbonate) in the seismic cube than “CII+CIII-channel”
(sandstone-in-siltstone). Two oil wells confirm our interpretation approach.

The geophysical substantiation of legitimacies of allocation and technology of look-ing ups of pyritic fields of Ural
Authors A.M. Vinogradov, U.V. Golikov, A.V. Nikiforov and T.L. FominThe pyretic deposit are widely introduced on Ural. These objects find direct or indirect exhibiting in physical fields at all hierarchical levels entitiess - ore bearing and ore zones, ore clusters and ore-volcanic centers, ore fields, ore fields block and ore bodies The priority of geophysics in looking ups is indisput-able. In conditions of a plenty of the geological and geophysical information of terrain by designed yard-sticks the localization of fields of detailed looking ups up to the floor space 2-4 km2 is possible. Here with usage of modern hardware - methodical facilitiess the discoverings leaked before small-sized not deep seated ore deposit in limens of ore bearing and ore zones and giant ore deposit in limens of ore clusters and ore-volcanic centers are most interquartile. On an example Dombarian district the optimum technology of look-ing ups of small-sized fields is uncovered. The experimental researches rotin possibility of eliciting of giant ore deposit on unapproachable earlier depthes.

Detection of New Objects due to Seismic Technology Updating
Authors V.I. Kuznetsov, V.P. Torgashov, A.P. Gutarov and A.N. KychkinApplication of the entire complex of novel technologies in a rather favorable seismogeological environment
enables to obtain principally more informative seismic data that present new objects earlier unapproachable
to geophysicists. Yet, some of them still cannot be interpreted unambiguously. This paper outlines a suite of
examples from 3D survey in Western Siberia. Some of the examples highlight objects proper geological
interpretation.

Inverse problems of gravity prospecting in schemes of integrated interpretation
More LessThe inverse problems of gravity prospecting for media models adequate to modern urgent tasks of oil
and gas prospecting works are reviewed. The compensation of equivalence effects is carried out by their
inclusion into a more common scheme of integrated interpretation. It is achieved by attraction of the
additional information about the structure of a model in the form of an optimality criterion having additive,
multiplicative and dynamic components. Three basic forms of stating the problem of complex media objects
density model restoration are distinguished accordingly: passive, active and geodynamic. The integral and
differential presentations of optimal decisions are deduced and the iterative processes of their solution are
designed. The developed methods are technologically realized as a software-methodical complex. The
questions of its further development for the solution of the problem of integrated interpretation in discrete
simulation models are discussed.

Modern technology of shooting of the caused polarization in movement with the purpose of an estimation of ore-bearance of territories
For the decision of an urgent problem of an estimation of ore-bearance of territories at regional
geophysical works the technology of shooting of the induced polarization in movement with use of track
vehicles is developed. The theoretical estimation of the factors determining the deapth of researches of
induced polarization with use of nonconventional electroprospecting installations, linear grounding, represented
by system, and combined feeding-reception line is carried out. The positive experience of application
of the automated hardware - technological complex for shooting the induced polarization in
movement is shown with the purpose of an estimation of prospects of ore-bearance of the large territories.

Experimental bases of application of a method of an early stage IP for the geocriological-engineering investigations
More LessIn the work the experimental data on research of the temporary characteristics of fast processes IP in
the frozen iono-conducting rocks are considered. The dependences of temporary characteristics from temperature,
dispersion, initial concentration of electrolyte and humidity of models of frozen grounds received in
laboratory conditions are shown. The results of some investigations of an early stage of the induced polarization
(ESIP) of frozen grounds in natural occurrence are given. It is stated, that of frozen grounds of different
lithological structure have the various temporary characteristics ESIP. The given circumstance is a basis of
practical application of the method ESIP for the geocriological-engineering investigations.

solving of inverse problem of magnetic prospecting integrated with data of regional gravity, seismic and
geothermic. Mantle-based structures detected by the methodic present possible migration ways of
hydrocarbons and relate with known oil and gas pools. There is example of use of the methodic for
