Detection hydrocarbon accumulation in South Backa
More LessThe most important reservoir horizons in South Backa is the lower Badenien conglomerate depositional environments. The paper describes the existing tectonic interpretation and geological framework of the Miocen and its immediate base in regions of South Backa.

Petrophysical characterization of "Fazenda Alvorada" field for in situ seismic monitoring: a Brazilian case study
Authors L. D. Dillon and G. F. VasquezIn Brazil there are cases of fields with production problems due to very heavy or paraffinic oils. Some of them are currently submitted to Thermal Enhanced Oil Recovery Processes. We are specifically interested on monitoring the steam fronts. The idea is to map its preferential directions of propagation in time, identifying spatial heterogeneities of the reservoir, trying, in that way, to execute a more efficient production program.

An empirical relationship between thermal conductivity and elastic waves velocities in sedimentary rocks
Authors M. C. Zamora, D. Vo-Thanh, G. Bienfait and J. P. PoirierKnowledge of thermal conductivity of rocks is necessary for geothermal energy extraction, for onderstanding the evolution of sedimentary basins, and for modeling petroleum generation and migration. Measuring thermal properties of rocks and rock-fluids in situ or in laboratory, is difficult and time consuming. Therefore, an indirect method for predicting thermal behaviour from more easily mesurable parameters would be extremely useful.

The possibilities of airborne geophysical survey in natural environment
Authors I. Kasparec, K. Dedacek and F. JanakAirborne geophysical survey has been applied in Czechoslovakia since 1957 . At the present time the airborne gamma-ray spectrometry and magnetometery survey is carried out by Geofyzika Brno. The airplane AN-2 is equipped with 256-channel Geometrics GR-800D gamma-ray spectrometer with NaI(Tl) detectors of total volume of 33 .6 litres . The magnetometery is provided by means of proton magnetometer G 801 /3B Geometrics. The constituent paft of equipment represents electronic navigation Mini Ranger III Motorola , which secures precise positioning of measured aerogeophysical data .

New interpretative way to the method of underground electromagnetic waves - the establishment of recognizing patterns
Authors W. Yiren, L. X. Gua and L. T. QaunThe acquisition subsystem of underground electromagnetic wave new system in frequency domain can provide multi - frequency and multisource observation data at crosshole exploration .The data connotes information of attenuation, of propagating paths and scattering of geologic targets . The Tomographic algebraic algorithms such as ART,SIRT merely consider the attenuation of ray paths ;it hence can not apply to data processing and interpretation at complex geological conditions .
