Joint Industry Project: Improvised PPE Informatics Integrity Reducing Occupational Risks

the Phase 1 results of a five-phase Joint Industry Project
proposal. Research commenced in 2006, to establish the need
and methods to reduce Oil & Gas workforce exposure risks.
The reports prepared throughout Phase 1 will become the
shared property of the JIP participants. Not all details can
therefore be disclosed within this paper. Presentation of the
paper is intended to offer the opportunity to operators and
organizations to be directly involved or associated in other
ways with this initiative.

Downhole Fluid Analysis and Sampling Establishes Compositional Gradient in a Deep Water Gas-Condensate Reservoir
More LessThe paper demonstrates how to establish a compositional
gradient in Dhirubhai-26 (MA) retrograde gas-condensate
reservoir situated in a deep water territory of KG Basin, India,
with the help of real-time Downhole Fluid Analysis
(DFA).The reservoir consisted of an oil rim sandwiched by a
large gas cap and bottom water. Very low contamination
samples were captured downhole, using a Wireline Formation
Tester (WFT), in Single Phase PVT bottles. This success was
achieved through the combined use of DFA results, PVT data
and a tuned Equation of State (EoS).

Non-Darcy Flow Effects in Dual-Porosity, Dual-Permeability, Naturally Fractured Gas Condensate Reservoirs

natural fractures and in the near wellbore region of a naturally
fractured reservoir (NFR). The study includes the combined
effect of non-Darcy flow in presence of retrograde
condensation and wellbore damage on pressure transient
analysis of naturally fractured reservoirs. A single well
compositional model was constructed and used to evaluate
both the early-time and late-time characteristics of the
pressure transient data.

Success of SAG Foam Processes in Heterogeneous Reservoirs
Authors W.J. Renkema and W.R. RossenIn principle, miscible gas injection can displace nearly all
of the oil from the portions of a reservoir swept by gas.
However, reservoir heterogeneity, low gas density and high
gas mobility reduce sweep efficiency and drastically decrease
recovery. Fortunately, the use of foam can reduce gas mobility
and the effect of heterogeneity and therefore increase sweep
efficiency. Based on the work of Shan and Rossen, an optimal
design strategy is proposed here for surfactant-alternating-gas
(SAG) foam processes and tested in a homogeneous reservoir
and in two layered rectangular reservoirs. Fractional-flow
theory, Stone’s and Jenkins’ model for gravity segregation,
and an idealized model developed by Shan and Rossen are
used design the process and interpret the results.

Using Geomechanics to Optimize Field Development Strategy of Deep Gas Reservoirs in Saudi Arabia

and maximum reservoir contact (MRC) wells in the deep gas
reservoirs. Regional stress field is playing an important role in

Laboratory Studies of MEOR in Micromodel as a Fractured System

renewed interest worldwide in recent years as a viable
method while not damaging the reservoir is proven to be
remarkably effective, however to some extent costly.
This method is based on microorganisms’ activities to
reduce residual oil of reservoirs, which is dependent on
behavior of inherent microorganisms or injection of bioproduct
of external microorganisms.
