A MatLab Script to Perform Gravity Terrain Corrections Using DEM-EU Digital Elevation Model in a Teaching Lab
Authors F. Almeida, M. Matias, M. Lourenço and A. MartinsSummaryThe use of traditional or modified Hammer techniques in the calculation of gravity terrain corrections can be time consuming and troublesome when teaching Gravity methods to students. The availability of digital tools, GIS and easy to use script techniques provide an opportunity to develop alternative easier and faster methods to teach gravity terrains corrections calculation. Of course these techniques can be generally used.
The aim of this article is to share the Matlab script developed in the Teaching-Learning process at University of Aveiro. To demonstrate this, an investigation was carried out in Sever do Vouga, and the results from these techniques are compared with those from the use of Hammer methods. Comparison and correlation between the terrain corrections calculated using a Matlab script and through the Hammer method are presented and discussed. An acceptable linear regression was found between the two methods in the rough topographic Sever do Vouga area, 0.90 correlation coefficient and a negative median value of -0.08 mgal, showing that the Matlab script gave results slightly lower than those from the modified Hammer method. Thus, the GIS/Matlab methodology can be successfully explored in the Teaching-Learning environment as well as in wider applications.

Joint Wave Field Reconstruction and Wave Equation Inversion for Near-Surface Properties
Authors A. Shaiban, S. De Ridder and A. CurtisSummaryWe present a PDE constrained joint inversion scheme for surface waves in which we iteratively reconstructs the wave field and then estimate the phase velocity. Our model for surface waves is based on the dispersive Helmholtz equation to model the far-field behavior of single mode dispersive surface waves. We support our algorithm with an example using a synthetic elastic shot gather synthesized in a layer over half space model with a step function. Our algorithm reconstructs an approximate wavefield (satisfying the scalar wave equation) and the retrieved phase velocity resembles the structure. We verify the final retrieved dispersion model using a frequency-wavenumber analysis of the elastic wavefields generated in equivalent layer over half space models.

Developments Trends Based on Realization of Field Development Data in Indonesia
Authors A. Asnidar and A.A. AzizurrofiSummaryAs of Desember 2017, there were around 435 Projects or PODs approved by Government of Indonesia. Based on mapping of Petroleum Development Cost and Commercial Reserves of 435 Field Development Projects, evaluation and analysis of 165 Realization Development Field, we can show that the plan of development still have risk and uncertainty in Commercial Reserves, Cost and Take (Government, Contractor). For this case in Indonesia, performance of commercial gas is under than plan but the oil performance is above plan although the oil price fell in the last 3 years. In Indonesia, Government mitigates under performance through periodic monitoring activity, with optimization (subsurface, cost) to improve Government Take.
These analyses showed that the area of Indonesia had atrractive development cost and commercial reserves, which consequently mean that the petroleum exploration activity is still interesting in Indonesia.
Finally, this paper is expected to provide contractors a quick look at oil and gas industry in Indonesia especially based on Field Development data (plan vs realization) and also help them create their petroleum exploration and development strategy in Indonesia by considering on this information.
