Abstract

A029 Fast 3D wave-equation prediction of multiples 1 Summary. We present a new efficient wave-equation scheme for prediction and subtraction of water-layer multiples and peg-legs from locally 1D sea-floor with an arbitrary 3D structure below it. The method is suitable for the majority of data from the North Sea. For current quasi-3D marine acquisition with poor sampling between shots in the crossline direction the method is accurate for receiver-side prediction but approximate for source-side prediction.
