Abstract

Z-99 SEISMIC DATA RECONSTRUCTION USING THE A039 Abstract 1 We present a new method for seismic data regularization using the pyramid transform. By exploiting the property that prediction error filters are frequency-independent in the pyramid domain we can use them as numerical regularization operators to constrain the forward modeling operator that maps the model space to the data space within the context of an inversion. The data can then be reconstructed by transforming the model in the pyramid domain back to the original (f-x) domain. Using synthetic and field data examples we show that data reconstruction using the pyramid transform
