Abstract
Z-99 SURFACE-RELATED MULTIPLE ELIMINATION APPLIED TO WALKAWAY VSP DATA I023 Abstract KETIL HOKSTAD and ROGER SOLLIE Statoil Research Centre Trondheim Norway Attenuation of multiples in walkaway VSP data has traditionally been performed by means of separation of up-going and down-going waves. With this approach the direct wave and the downgoing free-surface multiples of the direct wave are attenuated. Up-going multiples will however remain untouched. Surface-related multiple elimination (SRME) can predict and attenuate all multiples generated by the air-water interface. In this paper an SRME scheme for walkaway VSP data is presented and demonstrated on real marine walkaway VSP data. The
