Abstract
P-105 PRESTACK DEPTH MIGRATION-BASED POISSON’S RATIO DETERMINATION USING CONVERTED WAVES Abstract E. M. MENYOLI and D. GAJEWSKI University of Hamburg Bundesstrasse 55 D-20146 Hamburg Germany The traveltime curves or maps required for migrating converted waves (C-waves) depends on P- and S-wave velocities of the medium where the wave propagates. Consequently incorrect ¡ £ ¦ ¨ ratio (equivalent Poisson’s ratio) leads to incorrect depth images. An indication of errors in the Poisson’s ratio model is residual moveout or depth deviation in the prestack depth migrated PSimage gathers. The Poisson’s ratio estimation method presented here is an iterative optimization method.
