P16 JOINT PP AND PS STRATIGRAPHIC INVERSION FOR PRESTACK TIME MIGRATED MULTICOMPONENT DATA Summary 1 The goal of this paper is to improve the determination of a target zone located in a slowly laterally varying background by jointly inverting PP and PS waves available in prestack time migrated multicomponent data while taking into account a priori information (well log data geological knowledge...) in the inversion process: an optimal elastic model is estimated together with an optimal correspondence between PP and PS events.
