Abstract

The Finite Element Method and the Integral Equation Method are used extensively in the electromagnetic modeling in Geophysics. In this work we compare the processing times in both methods to calculate the fields generated by an infinite line of current over a 2D earth, in several different models. We find that the Finite Element Method is generally faster in our modeling.
