Abstract

The present work presents the results of the application of the Geophysicist through method GPR, as Non-destructive Method, in the definition of the thickness and behavior of the secondary covering as well as the integrity of the blanket of waterproofing in covering workmanships of underground tunnels. Method GPR was applied with the objective of auditorship of the standards established for the waterproofing blanket and of the standards of thickness for the secondary covering. As Not Destructive Method - MND, the application of the GPR in the frequency of 1,2 GHz got resulted sufficiently satisfactory. The thickness of the secondary covering in diverse preset points of the tunnel was determined. This thickness was determined thanks to one high definition of the electromagnetic signal gotten by the waterproofing blanket, also being able to present characteristics of its integrity. The application of method GPR was carried through inside of the standards of security of the underground workmanships, with reduced costs and immediate results if compared with the traditional methods of direct inquiry.
