Abstract

In the Bermejo Area, Ecuadorian Tecpetrol concession, located in the Oriente Basin, was applied a methodology over a 210 km2 3D seismic data, consistent in successive seismic processing and interpretation over the new data, in order to characterize and<br>localize the Basal Tena sandstones. Prior to this job the principal target were the Hollin F sandstones, always related to structural traps Bermejo Sur and Bermejo Norte fields. Basal Tena sandstones were considered a target of secondary importance and high risk, due to their erratic and hazardous presence at the wells. After this job, the precision obtained in the detection of the Basal Tena sandstones, converted them in a primary and economic stratigraphic target for the area.
