Abstract

A “low resistivity-low contrast” (LRLC) and low porosity-permeability sand earns a new name “quasi-wet-pay zone” (QWPZ) encompassing the hindrances of recognition due to lesser conductivity-contrast and diminished hydraulic properties. As we know from each components of this new definition, the evaluation of QWPZ sands by traditional methods has historically proven to be inadequate in deciding if the testing/completion/stimulation of a zone(s) is economically feasible.
