Abstract

The PAVUYACU field is situated in the Maranon basin in the oriente jungle of Peru. The field produces from sandstone reservoirs in the Upper Cretaceous. The sands are fluvial deltaic in the upper units and more marine deltaic in the lower units. The field had produced at a maximum rate of 9,500 SOPO from 14 wells in 1982. This production had declined to 2,500 BOPO in 1993. At this time it was declded to shoot a 3D seismic survey and carry out an integrated Interpretation to see if any upside potential remained in this field.
