3D Pre-Stack Depth Migration on a Massively Parallel Processors (MPP) Computer Architecture

Full 3D Pre-stack Depth Migration is a computational problem that is pushing the Industry to the leading edge of computational capabilities. Perhaps a Massively Parallel Processors (MPP) computer architecture will be needed to reduce this problem to a feasible one? If so, what are the requirements (computational and data movement) for processing a representative seismic survey? We impose those requirements on Cray Research, Inc. 's (CRI) forthcoming MPP product, the CRAY T3D.
