The effects of the first five completed Geoscientists Without Borders(R) projects show clearly the impact applied geophysics can have in remote, under-served, or underdeveloped areas of the world. The projects in West Sumatra, Honduras, India, Romania, and Thailand have had impacts that extend far beyond the actual project goals. Although these projects are not all located in undeveloped countries, it is lessons learned that are leading us to think of the benefits that can be gained using geophysics in such places.
