Abstract

D-22 ADAPTIVE WEIGHTED MINIMUM NORM PRE- STACK INTERPOLATION Abstract 1 In seismic data processing we often need to interpolate missing spatial locations in a domain of interest. In this paper we discuss pre-stack seismic data interpolation using adaptive weighted minimum norm interpolation (AWMNI). The interpolation scheme in 2D has been tested with a subset of the Marmousi data set. In addition the effectiveness of 3D AWMNI scheme is illustrated on a real 3D common azimuth seismic data set. Introduction In 3D survey seismic data are often sparsely and irregularly sampled along spatial coordinates. This produces problems for multi-channel processing techniques
