Abstract

P237 A NEW APPROACH TO SUBSURFACE DEPTH MODEL CONSTRUCTION USING REFRACTION WAVES IN IRREGULAR TOPOGRAPHY AREAS 1 INTRODUCTION Refraction waves are the most suitable for near surface model construction and static correction. Most of the methods for near surface model construction assume that the refraction wave could be described by linear function. However in case of irregular topography the assumption is inadequate. In order to overcome this problem usually a static shift correction is applied to the data. However because of the assumption of vertical ray-paths in static processes the elevation correction is not precise and may introduce significant errors
