On Use of Streamlines for Reservoir Fluid Flow-Geomechanics Coupling: Current Technical Evolutions, and Future Opportunities

Classical reservoir simulations do not consider the important interaction between reservoir fluid pressure and reservoir rock geomechanical parameters such as permeability. However the impact of geomechanical properties on reservoir flow simulation should be taken into account particularly for stress-sensitive class of reservoirs for more accurate prediction of ultimate recovery and having a better understanding of the reservoir dynamics.
