Abstract

Summary

Shales are known as the typical rocks with TI anisotropy. The method for upscaling in tilted TI media is proposed. By using the Schoenberg-Muir theory for upscaling in general anisotropic media, I analyze the effect of intrinsic tilt on effective anisotropy parameters defined in different symmetry planes.
