Landro (Norwegian University of Science & Technology) SUMMARY For some hydrocarbon reservoirs where a gas cap is overlying a relatively thin oil zone gas coning is often observed. Although such changes often are below typical seismic resolution it is possible to observe such effects on time lapse seismic data. However to quantify the thickness changes within the gas and oil columns is harder. Methods combining 4D amplitude changes and 4D traveltimes have been successfully applied to some field cases.
