The growing urbanization of karstic areas and the diffuse utilization of chemical products in agricultural increases the probability of soil and groundwater pollution. The relevance of these problems in karstic areas forced decision-makers to produce a number of laws and regulation on this subject and to demand an increasing number of environmental assessment studies in those areas. The research we are at present carrying on is to define the impact of agricultural practices in a complex karstic area of Salento (southern Apulia, Italy), placed among Carmiano, Copertino, Leverano, Salice Salentino and Veglie villages (Fig. 1).
